Message Hello tech folk. I have been painstakingly trying to put a build list together. This is not a future list either so you don't need to feel like you're wasting your time. I plan on ordering these parts asap.
My engine is torn down completely. I am not the most technical guy but i am good with tools and fallow the service manual religiously.
I comprised a list of internals, i went from expensive to affordable quickly. Stuff adds up.

I want to run a very reliable engine at a WHP between 500-600. My block only has 110 000 Kilometers and looks very clean. I actually feel bad for taking it apart. Rods and pistons both look to be in great condition. So i will be boring it to 87.5 most likely. (Engine comes from a automatic 1990 JDM car)

So for the bottom end,
-CP pistons (from what i heard its worth buying over wiseco. Unless someone here tells me otherwise)
-Eaglerods or stock? (which can i trust under my hood with this power)

My heads went threw a catastrophic heat issue three years ago. They warped bad and so forth. So this is my seconed build. The first one is to stock specs, everything ran great.
The machinist told me that they took nearly the max they could off, I was foolish enough to throw the papers away so i don't have the specs.

Heads
-Ferrea valve train kit from Z1 with 1mm larger valves.
-JWT R4cams? (please give suggestions)
-Cometic head gasket. Thicker (i want to use a head gasket like this to add thickness due to the past machine work done. Is it worth stepping it up and getting Tomei head gaskets?)
-ARP Studs
-New VTC gears (I believe this is why my car was ticking, maybe i'm wrong? Should i keep the VTC setup or remove the system.

As i said my Engine is a 1990 JDM used on a A/T. I am doing the 5spd swap right now. As for turbos i am not thing hard about these as i want to buy turbos for a built engine. Not buy a engine for turbos.
And the goal here is to put together a very reliable engine.

Thanks, hope to hear back from you all.
